The Channel is a creative and critical writing and arts magazine by the Sussex community. Anyone connected to Sussex – whether a student, a staff member, a visitor, a family member, an alumni or a staff member of a third party organisation that works on campus – will be able to submit visual or written content. This includes short stories, political essays, graphic novels/comics, photography, doodles, poetry and anything in between.

Submissions will open in mid-November and close at the beginning of February. The first edition will be out in April but look out for blogs on our website in the meantime. While submissions don’t have to be political, the ethos of the magazine is for intersectional socio-economic justice. In this regard we hope to share creative and critical art and writing that can challenge the norms and structure of society and open new possibilities and imaginaries for the future.
